ACIM Bible Study

ACIM is a metaphysical thought system that was first channeled by Helen Schucman. It is comprised of a Text, Workbook and Teacher’s Manual.

It is a venerable and powerful teaching system which is unique in its emphasis on forgiveness as the road to inner peace and remembrance of the unconditional love of God. However, some aspects of ACIM can be problematic for nondual spirituality, especially its over-emphasis on the ego.
What is ACIM?

ACIM (A Course in Miracles) is an eloquently written self-study program designed to help students undo and remove the blocks to their awareness of Love’s presence. It is a unique approach to healing abandonment, victimhood, and all lifelong issues by removing judgments, learning to trust the Higher Self, and becoming consistent in Peace of Mind.

The premise behind ACIM is that the world we live in is an illusion we created as a substitute for the Real, the Oneness of God and Heaven. Through daily lessons, students are encouraged to change their perception of the world.

It is a three-part book set, consisting of the initial “Text,” a workbook for students and a teacher’s manual. It has sold over 2 million copies worldwide, with many translations available.

In the early 1970s, Helen Schucman (nee Dora Cohn) began to hear what she called an inner voice identifying itself as Jesus. She subsequently “scribed” this “dictation” for about two years into shorthand notes, then edited the material into ACIM with William Thetford and Kenneth Wapnick.

But the ACIM is not, as some might imagine, a true Bible, based on a direct channeling from Jesus himself. Rather, the material is a combination of what Helen says she heard, as well as some skepticism, Catholic devotional practices, and a host of New Age philosophies and religious beliefs that she herself adopted for mid-life.

While the ACIM has been a great source of inspiration for millions of people, its pretentiousness and authoritarian stance can easily lure vulnerable persons to fall into a self-destructive cycle of inward cultic obedience to its rules and regulations. This is a very dangerous and unhealthy path to take, for it can easily lead students away from their own internal, loving teachers, as well as their loved ones.
How do I know if ACIM is on my curriculum?

The aforementioned is the only real question and I can’t say that I’ve seen ACIM in a classroom setting. This is a shame because there’s something about the tenets of a community based learning environment that inspires some truly amazing and curious souls. This is where the best of the best can be sparked. The best part is that it doesn’t feel like you have to be a college student or a high powered executive to get there, well that and in the right kind of venue.
How do I know if I am a true spiritual seeker?

If you’re a spiritual seeker, you might be wondering how to tell if you’re on the right track. A true spiritual seeker is someone who has a deep desire to understand the universe and find meaning in their life. This can be done by focusing on certain themes, such as love, compassion, wisdom, and life after death.

Spiritual seekers are usually open-minded and are willing to explore their beliefs and practices with an open mind and a clear heart. They are also able to let go of their past and accept new experiences and opportunities.

A common sign that you are a true spiritual seeker is that you want to live a life of truth and integrity. This means that you don’t believe in arbitrary authority and that you question traditional values. You may also feel that you’re unsatisfied with your current lifestyle.

Another sign that you are a true spiritual seeker can be seen in the way you treat others. You may have a strong sense of compassion for others and are always there to help them. This can include offering a kind word or encouraging them to reach their goals.

You might even become friends with people who don’t agree with you or who have different values than yours. This can be a good thing, because you might be able to learn from them and become better people.

The other sign that you are a spiritual seeker is that you often ask yourself big questions about your life and the world around you. These questions can include, “What is the purpose of my life?” and “What do I want out of life?”

If you have these questions, you are probably on a journey to spiritual fulfillment. The journey is unique for each person, so it’s important to listen to your intuition and follow your feelings.

Lastly, spiritual seekers often find that the natural world appeals to them more and more. This can be seen in the way they spend more time in nature, or how they are drawn to trees, canyons, mountains, and wilderness areas.
How do I know if I am in heaven?

If you are a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, then you know that you will go to heaven when you die. In fact, the Bible tells us that heaven is a real place where God and angels live.

In acim , heaven is described as a spiritual place of bliss and holiness. The word heaven comes from the Hebrew shamyim, which means “the habitation of a holy and glorious God.” It is also the name of a specific realm in which a person can live with God forever (Psalm 68:2).

When we die our body returns to dust and our spirit is carried to heaven where it awaits its destiny. We cannot see heaven, but it is a beautiful place of eternal beauty and bliss. It is described as a kingdom of light and glory that surpasses human understanding.

The Bible tells us that it is impossible for a person to enter heaven unless they are forgiven of their sins through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. This is called salvation. It is a free gift from God to all who put their trust in the Lord Jesus.

Because of our sin, we are separated from God and we will spend eternity in hell if we don’t turn to Him in repentance and trust in the Lord Jesus. But because of God’s mercy, He provides a way for us to escape the torment of hell and be saved from eternal separation from Him through the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ.

Until sin entered the world, earth was a physical paradise. It was full of beauty, fruit, and trees. When God removed that curse, he created a new heaven and a new earth for us.

The heavens are filled with the throne of God and the rays of His glory shine down upon the earth. There is a constant chorus of angels singing a hymn of praise to God that never ends. There are also a group of departed martyrs under the altar who cry out with a loud voice and wear white robes.
